Welcome to Clay & String.
My name is Sandra, I’m a nurse and Maker.
With the support of my very patient husband and my 2 boys I started Clay & String as a means to continue my polymer clay obsession. There are only so many necklaces and earrings a girl can store, so I figured if I could sell some of my pieces, it totally justified me continuing to create new ones! I love polymer clay as a medium to make jewellery as the only limitation is your imagination. This art has changed the way I look at the world around me, as inspiration for designs and patterns is everywhere I look.
I’ve been lucky enough to attend the Homegrown Market at The Station in Newcastle since it’s launch in June 2019. This website is a way to reach more people who appreciate unique handmade jewellery. I get so much joy from seeing my customers wear something I made!
